Flu vaccinations: what to expect

Who can have a flu vaccination, and how to book

A flu vaccination is a short appointment with a pharmacist. It helps reduce the chance of flu disrupting work, family time and travel. NHS flu vaccinations are available if you are eligible, and private flu vaccinations are available for other adults.

Who should get vaccinated

The NHS recommends the flu vaccine for adults 65 and over, pregnant women, people with long-term health conditions, carers, and frontline health workers. Private flu vaccinations are available to any adult who wants extra protection.

  • Aim for 7 to 9 hours of sleep
  • 20 minutes of daylight before noon
  • Book your NHS flu vaccination if you are eligible
